A Wrench Upon My Heart
The sun reminds me of your warmth,
And it’s rays your radiance,
Whilst they shimmer all around,
And in the gentle breeze do dance.
And many men would dare to say,
That inspiration oft’ is found,
Upon the embrace of their love,
And in it’s arms securely bound.
And when your presence ‘ere is missing
And the sea between us stands,
I feel a wrench upon my heart,
And my loneliness expands.
So pain it is, to be endured,
By the absence of your touch,
But patience has to be my rock,
Although my tears attest too much.
